About Old South Homes:
R.E Carroll Construction, Inc., was formed as a custom home
builder in the early 1980's by a local father and son team.
During the 1980's, as the company's reputation grew, so did
the business.
In 1998, the name of the company was formally changed from R.E.
Carroll Construction, Inc., to the Old South Home Company. Old
South Home Company is one of the top residential builders in
Guilford County and is still locally owned. Old South Home
Company is committed to providing value to it's customers.
Old South Home Company truly offers buyers more square footage
for less money. The entire Old South Home Company staff is
dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive the best
value in the new home market.
This is made possible by first establishing strategic alliances
with our key suppliers and subcontractors. Our suppliers and
subcontractors are committed to quality materials and the
correct installation of those materials
that make up an Old South Home Company home. Old South Home
Company and it's sister companies have combined purchasing
power that allows Old South Home Company to purchase major
named brand components at volume discounted prices.
In addition, Old South Home Company is able to offer superior
value to it's customers by having the low overhead expenses
of a local builder, yet also having national buying power.
All Old South Home Company operations and expenses are local.
To our buyers, this means that we can operate on a lower overhead
margin than most national builders. These savings in turn
can be passed back to our buyers through lower priced homes.
The third way in which Old South Home Company is able to
offer greater value at less price than competing builders
is through it's dynamic scheduling process. Each community
has a Community Builder that is in charge of developing a
comprehensive schedule to build each new home. Each Old South
Home Company Community Builder will constantly be searching
for ways in which to reduce the building time cycle. Time
is money in the building business. This means that if Old
South Home Company can reduce the construction time to complete
a home, it will also reduce the cost of building that home.
Old South Home Company is proud of its reputation of providing
quality customer service. Before we perform the final walk
of a new Old South Home Company home with our customers, the
Community Builder must certify that the home is ready. At
that time, our Quality Assurance Manager will perform a 150
point inspection of the home. The Quality Assurance Manager
receives a bonus for finding as many items needing attention
in the home as is reasonable. Conversely, the Community Builder
also receives a bonus for having a minimum number of items
needing attention in a new home. This process typically takes
7 days to complete. It is only after this inspection and any
adjusts needed are made that we perform the final walk of
the home with the customer. |
